A.S.S.C. Objectives
1) Primary and immediate objectives
a) create suitable conditions for bringing together a group of like-minded friends who have similar lifestyles
b) consciously enjoy the benefits offered by balneation (swimming) and outdoor activities in a marine environment in all seasons (thalassotherapy, heliotherapy, etc.)
2) Deferred (short term) objectives
a) set up a hydro/meteorological/climatological station/observatory for monitoring:
- temperature/humidity levels of the water and surrounding areas
- biological conditions of the water and surrounding areasb) set up a non-profit biomedical service/clinic (free for members) in order to:
- assist members and direct them towards lifestyles or treatments that will improve their health and strengthen their inclination towards practicing the elective activities promoted by the association
- scientifically monitor, record and document physiological changes brought about by elective activities (as they relate to temperatures, duration etc. and other conditions)
3) Medium term objectives
a) establish links with similar foreign associations (e.g. Serpentine Swimming Club in London and Polar Bears Boston) to compare experiences, make new friends and possibly embark on shared projects and initiatives.
- make arrangements with select suppliers so that members can derive financial benefits from A.S.S.C. membership (e.g. discounts on travel, tourism, goods and services, etc.)
